New Hampshire Celebrate National Entrepreneurship Week

The Toys R US project at Rivier College has just finished its fourth year. Students are put into teams that are charged with creating a compelling and innovative toy concept for the US toy market. They must design and construct a prototype, perform a detailed situational analysis for their product, and present their positioning strategy for the product. Student teams are also strongly encouraged to perform market research to help validate their concept with users. Winners are selected from each class based on creativity, thoughtful analysis, prototype efforts and the likelihood of commercial success. Toys R Us managers are often involved with judging.

Students brainstorm ideas, agree on a selected concept, and then develop a plan for development and distribution. Several innovate concepts have been produced form these competitions, including: Skateboard-windsailing combo product; Catch the Snitch (a Harry Potter inspired snow sledding game);
